DeepZoom Composer Bug?

On this page I'd like to show the problems that I encountered with Microsoft's DeepZoom Composer exports (even with the June 09 release - see below). The main issue is, that I layout images with the composer and export them, but some images are missing from the exported result. I tried everything but the problem stays. I even digged though the GeneratedImages folder and checked whether the tiles themselves contain the images and the bug is in the display script. Result was negative. The only thing that produces complete results is, if I export it as Silverlight with multiple images (collection).

In order to have reproducable results (tried on 3 differentcomputers already) I decided to run some tests. Here are the details of what I've tried:

First Step was to take the image below and resize it to a 5200x3900 pixel jpg (click on the image to get the large version):

Second Step was to create 33 copies of the original image, import them into the DeepZoom Composer and layout them in a way that I could easily tell, if the export was successful:

Exported results via ajax can only be done through the single image option (composition) in the export screen, as the multiple image export option is grayed out if you choose ajax. The screeshot below clearly show that only a fraction of the 33 images appear in the exported ajax html.

Exported results via silverlight single image renders almost the same results. With Silverlight export you can choose between "single image" and "multiple image" format. The screenshot show the single image export results.

Exported results via silverlight multiple image works like a charm. Every image of the original layout is there and you can zoom deeply into them. Selecting the "multiple image" option seems to alway work, regardless how large images you use.

Second try with ajax export. The first time I used DeepZoom Composer I got flawless results. The images I used back than were much smaller though, so I resized all images to 2592x1944 pixels and imported everything into the Deep Zoom Composer again. Same layout as before, but again ajax export as single image. The results below show, that now everything works fine. All images are there!

Final thoughts: I searched many forums, blog posts and websites but nobody seems the have similar issues with the DeepZoom Composer. This really amazes me, so i hope with this detailed explanation you can try and reproduce this error.

April 09 release still has the bug as you can see. This is an ajax export.

June 09 release. Unfortunately, the bug is still there. As usual this is the ajax export:
